2021 EA Flood Award - WINNER

ACCESSIBILITY

Floods affect everyone, so one goal with this website is to make it as accessible as possible to as many people as possible in the Stour Valley and beyond.  We’ve listed some of the standards and techniques we have used to achieve this below.

We hope to continually improve the use of the site for all of our visitors. If you have any issues regarding accessing the content on this site, please do not hesitate to contact us.

IMAGES

We provide a text alternative for all images that are part of the informative content of this website. This alternative text is gives a full description of the image, and will be read out to those using screen-reading software. Where an image is for aesthetic purposes we don’t add alternative text, as this  adds distracting ‘noise’ for screen-reader users.

NAVIGATION

You should be able to reach all parts of the website using links which can be navigated via your keyboard. If you have restricted sight or mobility, you should be able to use your keyboard tab key or switch device to move from link to link across the pages of our site.

TEXT

All text is resizable, so if it is too small or large for easy reading you can use your browser settings to display it at your preferred size (usually by pressing Ctrl+/- or Command+/-). If you have already selected a non-standard text size in your browser settings, our site will respect your settings.

This website contains a number of documents in PDF format. Usually clicking a link to view this document should load it in a browser window. If this is not the case for your browser you will likely need software to open these files. You might have this software on your computer already. If not, here are some sources to download them:

Download the latest Adobe Reader software.

Download the latest Word viewer software.
